About Me

I'm an accomplished brand manager and marketing and communications leader with a proven record of driving audience and revenue growth, managing evolutionary change, and designing and implementing forward-looking operational systems at media brands reaching millions in major markets. I'm a marketing professional with successful brand refresh and re-launch experience, and a PR and strategic communications expert with extensive media contacts with a background as an award winning broadcast journalist. I'm also a nonprofit board member and journalism advocate, and a media technology and operations expert.

Professional Experience

September 2022 - April 2025

Director of News & Programming, KNX News

Led content and marketing for iconic Southern California news brand reaching more than 1.2 million weekly on FM/AM radio, streaming, smart speakers, web, and social media. Hosted and produced a daily news podcast. Achieved highest overall audience share in modern history. Grew streaming listening by more than 33%. Grew over-the-air Adults 25-54 audience by 40%, beating the market by 50%. Developed content and brand guidelines for multi-platform expansion and enterprise-wide promotion across the national Audacy platform. Lead PR for the KNX News brand. Oversaw and coached a market-leading team of award-winning audio journalists. Designed, produced, and promoted live events including political debates and town halls to expand brand's reach and impact. Oversaw technical systems design and implementation.

September 2018 - September 2022

Brand Manager, KYW Newsradio

Oversaw all aspects of iconic brand including news content, presentation, digital strategy, podcasting, branding , and marketing. Managed award-winning team of approximately 70 multi- platform journalists, producers, and support staff. Led successful launch and promotion of first-ever FM simulcast in station's 56-year history. Oversaw complete brand modernization and re-image for a digital future. Managed events and specialty programming, developed content integration strategies to grow revenue , and guided technical systems design, implementation, and maintenance.

April 2011 - September 2018

Assistant Director of News & Programming, Anchor/Reporter, WCBS Newsradio 880

Led New York's iconic news station through a modernization of its branding, logo, sonic imaging, and format. Responsible for day-to day newsroom reporting assignments and general editorial oversight. Broadcast and multimedia journalist covering news and features, primarily in New York City, with a particular focus on transportation, urban history, and LGBTQ issues.

Led award-winning coverage of such monumental news events as Hurricane Sandy, the Orlando shooting, Boston Marathon bombing, the 2013 New York mayoral election, and the deadly Metro-North and Amtrak train derailments. Responsible for generating and developing enterprise news and feature stories. Actively utilized social media platforms to aid in news gathering and engage the audience with video and multimedia content. Produced, edited, and hosted annual year-in-review program.

News Reporter/Anchor, KIRO Radio

News and features reporter for the leading news-talk station in the Puget Sound region, covering day-to-day news events and producing in-depth issue-based feature reports on a daily basis.

News anchor on top-rated morning show at Central New York’s leading news radio station. Filed breaking news and feature reports that aired throughout the day.

I serve on the Board of Directors of the Radio Television Digital News Association, which provides visibility, advocacy, training, resources, and awards for broadcast and digital journalists and their leaders.

Technical Consultant & Board of Directors Member, WJPZ Radio Inc.

Provide operational, financial, and technical oversight for Syracuse University’s student-owned-and-operated radio station. The Board is responsible for compliance with federal broadcast regulations as well as ensuring the non-profit corporation fulfills its mission as a training ground for successful careers in the broadcasting industry.

Adjunct Instructor, Fordham University

Independently developed curriculum for new journalism course, Social Media for Journalists, focusing on both theory and the practical applications of emerging technology in traditional journalism.
